The Veterans' Services at BHSU are extended to current members and veterans of the United States Armed Forces as well as their dependents. Our staff will aid in researching and receiving education benefits through the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), the State of South Dakota, as well as state/federal organizations. We're here to offer a place for independent study and a safe atmosphere where veterans can feel free to share military experiences.
Black Hills State University offers reduced tuition rates for all active military service members and DOD Civilians assigned to Ellsworth AFB, enrolled in courses at the main campus in Spearfish and our two extension campuses, Ellsworth AFB & the University Center (Rapid City). For Dependents of Servicemembers at Ellsworth the reduced rate is available for online classes or classes held at Ellsworth AFB.
The reduced rate is $250 per credit hour for undergraduate courses and $300 per credit hour for graduate courses. The federal government currently provides federal tuition assistance up to a maximum of $250 per credit hour to military students.
To get the tuition reduction you will need to complete this form, and provide the necessary verification documents.
It is our our privilege to serve the needs of our Active Duty service members as well as their family members and DOD Civilians working at Ellsworth.
If you have any questions regarding classes at Ellsworth or need Air Force Tuition Assistance help, contact Carol Racanelli, email: email@example.com, 605-718-4257.
